You change date format in File > Settings > Date. Standard format is your local date format.
Write as much as you know of a date. For example. September 6, 1789, September 1789, or 1789. Avoid formulations that ?? August 177? or s.. in 1887.
In addition to the day, month and year, you can use prefixe to specify a date or period.
If you only know the start date, write
"From <date>"
and if you only know the end date, write
"to <date>" or "- <date>".
If you enter a date that does not have the correct format or that are not in the calendar
the date is marked as an error.
Dates before Christ is written with BC after the date. For example, 23 BC.
If you are in the box for the year in the calendar,
type a space after the year to set the date automatically before Christ.
If you do not know the full date, you can enter only the year or month and year.
