A root person, is the person who is the starting point for ancestors in the family register. Ancestors are highlighted in pedigrees and individual lists with a blue dot . Information about ancestors also appears in the status bar. You can change the way you number your ancestors in Settings - General.

  Note that a person's pedigree collapse only get an indication of the possible.

To change the root person for an active register

  1. Activate any of the above command.
  2. Opens window where you can change the root person by clicking the person and selecting another person in the search window. If you do not want a root person, press the Delete root person.
  3. Press OK.

Or

  1. Mark a person and open the Context menu by right-clicking on the person (Mac Ctrl + click).
  2. Select Set as Root person
