To make a new search, and to change the conditions of the search,
open the search window by clicking
or with the keyboard command .
In the window you can make settings for matching against name, birth and death.
Displays a window where you can choose which information for person 2 to be added to person 1 and where you see a preview of the merged person
Tasks with a warning triangle are those that do not comply with person 1, and where you can choose whether they should be added to person 1.
Display match of name, birth and death data and of family members.
How well it conforms is illustrated with stars, the more filled stars the more equal.
When you select people from the list of possible duplicates
the main person
is changed and you can see detailed information in biography window.
To eliminate a duplicate, select the person who is the most "correct" in terms of relationships and family as the dominant person (person 1). If the person is not dominant, you can swap places with the Swap button.
Affected people of the merge are automatically added to a single
group so you can easily find them.
