The double view shows a combination of two different views where you can select the view for the left and right half of the window respectively.

In addition to the regular categories in the options menu, the double view has one that controls the presentation. There you can select the view for the respective window half. You can also choose whether the right window should follow the left, which means that if you select a person in the left view, it will be set as main person in the right.
