Name

There are two different types of names in Genney.

  1. The Personal name presented in tables and lists. It is the normal name you type in Name of Biography - general.
  2. Alternative name which can be an alias, birth name, wedding name, or any other type. It is connected to a person as a fact in Biography - general. Unlike the personal name in can have a Note, Sources and be Private.

Given name

Specifies one or more first names. If you put an asterisk "*" for any of the names, it is interpreted as a calling name and is underlined. Maximum 120 characters.

Surname

Specifies one or more last name or family name. Maximum 120 characters.

Nickname

Defines a nickname. Nicknamed is surrounded by quotation marks. Maximum 30 characters.

Title (name prefix)

Prefix before the name. Maximum 30 characters.
Example: Mr. Nils Nilsson.

Name suffix

Name piece that appears after the surname. Max 30 tecken.
Example: Nils Nilsson jr..

Note (Alternative name only)

Free text. Maximum 32672 characters.

Private (Alternative name only)

Here you specify whether the name should be private, ie you have the option to opt out of the name for export and for printingt.

Sources (Alternative name only)

List of sources linked to the name.
